Bars and restaurants may open normal hours from next Monday (07), in cities classified as Low risk contamination of the new coronavirus in Espírito Santo. The determination was announced by Governor Renato Casagrande, on Friday night (04), during an online statement. The measure does not apply for Saturday (05) and Sunday (06). Regardless of the time, safety measures such as cleanliness, use of masks and social distance must be respected.
There are 28 municipalities classified as low risk by the risk map, among them Vitória, with around 400 thousand inhabitants, and Serra, with more than 500 thousand inhabitants. “Low risk is not absence of risk. What is allowed are economic activities during normal hours, but within the protocol of the Ministry of Health. As we move forward, we can return to the next risk matrix, so we ask for discipline and care among the people, “said the governor.
The new risk map has the central objective of reducing deaths. In Vitória, the average is 11 deaths in the last 14 days, with a moderate threat level for this indicator. Serra has an average of 16 deaths in the same period. “We were able to offer beds to the capixabas, but we could not reduce deaths as we should, so we must be vigilant,” added the governor.
The new risk matrix considers:
- active cases in the last 28 days by municipality;
- the average of deaths in the last 14 days by municipality;
- tests per thousand inhabitants per municipality;
- state bed occupancy rate.
The bed occupancy rate is currently 54%.
