The profile of the volunteers remains the same, but the age range has widened: the minimum age ranges from 18 to 16 years. The test centers will remain in Bahia and São Paulo.

The Pfizer and BioNTech tests against Covid are developed by laboratory researchers from the United States and Germany. The studies are in phase 3, the last stage.

Anvisa approved the investigation of this vaccine among Brazilians on July 22. The immunizer requires two doses, three weeks apart.

The arrival of new participants during clinical studies allows the inclusion of more data on efficacy and safety, as well as increasing diversity.

The selection of new participants is carried out without an age limit, with priority for people over 70 years of age. Three additional test request centers will also be opened: São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro and Bahia will continue to receive volunteers, but new centers will be created in Natal (RN), Porto Alegre (RS) and Santa Maria (RS).

Nine vaccines in the last phase of testing

Nine vaccines are in the third and final phase of human testing, the last before being released by health authorities.
