The decision to gradually reopen all public parks in the capital was announced on August 20 by Mayor Alexandre Kalil (PSD). They can work Thursday to Sunday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., by appointment (see all the rules below).

According to the Municipal Parks and Zoobotany Foundation, “soon, other green areas will also resume their operation, gradually and progressively, according to epidemiological indicators.”

The folder recalled that “the gradual reopening of the parks does not represent a return to normality, but rather as a complement to the measures to promote the health and quality of life of people at this time of the pandemic ”.

And he stressed that, although some of the spaces are open to the population, “contamination risks are not ruled out and therefore each visitor must adopt all individual safety measures, such as the use of a mask (mandatory throughout the entire stay in the park), frequent hand hygiene and maintaining a safe distance – 2 meters , preferably – from other people. ”

Entrance to the parks will be made exclusively programming online, through the website www.pbh.gov.br/servicos, looking for the option looking for “Scheduling visits to the parks”.

The scheduling of the visits will be carried out by time slots, which will prevent many people from arriving at the park at the same time, which can cause queues or crowds.

There will be a limited number of visitors per day. This maximum capacity is related to the specific public use area of each park, even with a more conservative dimension in that first moment, as an additional precautionary measure.

The protocol for the operation of the parks was published in the “Official Gazette of the Municipality” on Thursday (27).

Among the rules of the protocol are the mandatory use of masks, the safety distance between people, the demarcation of the floor to avoid crowds, the recommendation that people in the risk group do not go to the parks, the limitation of the number of people in the bathrooms, among others. CLICK HERE to access the entire protocol.

At the park concierge, all visitors will see their body temperature. In case of fever, they will be advised to seek medical assistance and will not be able to visit that day.

70% alcohol will be available for hand hygiene at the entrance and in some parts of the parks.

Some areas and spaces of the parks will be temporarily suspended from use, such as courts, skate parks, playgrounds, and fitness equipment. The holding of events and the walk with pets – in the parks where the activity was allowed – will be suspended for the moment.

The city recommends that people visit the parks closest to their homes. And that each person bring their own snack and water to hydrate themselves – or a bottle for individual use, since the drinkers can only be used to fill containers (not for direct consumption with an inclined jet).
