Health professional Denise Gomes, 39, who worked as a nursing technician at the UPA in Inoã, died early this Saturday night, 25, a victim of the coronavirus.

Denise had been admitted to a hospital in Niterói for two weeks, with the diagnosis of the disease confirmed. The information about Denise’s death was shared by the communication from the Municipality of Maricá, through a tribute note.

LSM contacted members of the professional’s family and, until now, no one in the professional’s family had received confirmation of death.

Denise is the first health professional in the municipality to suffer the disease, hired precisely during the exercise of the activity to which she was so dedicated in the UPA of Inoã.

“In this moment of reflection, in which the importance of social isolation is even more evident, the City Council wishes the family to find consolation in the irreparable loss, knowing that it represents the greatest symbol of the effort for the common good that health embodies” says note

The new UPA director also spoke about the loss:
“My God !!! What a pain! What an irreparable loss! Great professional, dedicated, competent, simple and attentive. We lost him to an invisible but real enemy, a brutal, evil and devastating virus. There are no words right now. I ask for strength for the family and all my dear friends. I am sure that humanity will overcome this catastrophe. “

A close friend of Denise regretted the fact on social networks:
“A 25-year friendship… It took us a long time to get together… But the friendship remained the same. May God receive you. Comfort the hearts of all your friends, coworkers, and family. Kisses with affection, my feelings … “.

At LSM, we pay our respects to Denise, who was a very close and dear friend of our director Denes Pereira and of our team. Denise has always been an excellent and dedicated professional and has saved many lives in the profession. He was an example, both as a professional and as a person. At this point, we would like to express our feelings to family and friends, who suffer with us this invaluable loss. And once again, send our prayers to all the healthcare professionals who, like Denise, chose to risk their lives every day in the fight against this terrible disease.
