This Saturday (25), Brazil reached the mark of 58,509 confirmed cases and 4,016 deaths caused by the new coronavirus. The update of the data from the Ministry of Health shows an increase of more than 10% in the number of cases and 9% in the number of deaths in 24 hours.
As of Friday (24), the country had registered 52,995 confirmed cases and 3,670 registered deaths. The number may be even higher, as many cases are still waiting for the test results.
The growth in deaths and the appearance of new patients shows an increase in the disease curve and follows the trend already verified by the Ministry of Health, which indicates the months of May and June as the peak of covid-19 in the country .
The advance of the pandemic raises some concerns. The main one is with the capacity of the Brazilian health system. To meet demand, dozens of spaces, such as stadiums and parks, are being adapted and transformed into field hospitals.
