Coronavirus: Sesab confirms his first death in Camaçari

This Saturday (25), around 12:11 pm, the State Health Department (Sesab) confirmed the first death from the new coronavirus (Covid-19) in Camaçari.

According to Sesab, the victim was a 67-year-old woman who lived in Camaçari. She had a history of cardiovascular disease and diabetes and was admitted to a public hospital in Salvador, dying on April 23.

On April 19, the Camaçari Health Department (Sesau) had reported, in the day’s epidemiological bulletin, that the city had a death under investigation. Considering that the death date confirmed today by Sesab, was April 23, they are not the same person.

Death in Camaçari characterizes death number 69 in Bahia by Covid-19. In total, the state already counts 70 deaths from the disease and more than 2,000 patients infected with the virus. Read more here.

In the municipality, according to Sesau’s latest bulletin, published last night (24), there are 35 confirmed cases in the city: of these, 13 patients are already recovered. Know more.

Until the closing of this matter, the municipal agency had not yet commented on the confirmation.
