The mayor of Rio de Janeiro, Eduardo Paes (DEM), decided to close the beaches and leisure areas of the city during the weekend, starting this Saturday (20), to try to count the progress of the contagion by the coronavirus. Information is from G1.

This Friday (19), the mayor must meet with the municipal secretary of Health, Daniel Soranz, to publish an Epidemiological Bulletin of the COVID-19 in the city and details the measures to be taken over the weekend.

According to G1, the City of Rio considers the possibility of carrying out a blockade and that the next few days will be crucial in deciding what measures to take and announced a meeting with the scientific committee on Monday (22).

“We are going to discuss the possibility, yes, of shutting things down completely. But, probably, the next measures that are taken, depends on the scientific committee, will be valid for all sectors and economic activities. Obviously less than essential, ”Paes said Thursday morning.
