According to the minister, the budget also depends on the proposed amendment to the Constitution (PEC). on the other hand, there must be a cost cut to settle the obligations imposed by fiscal responsibility.
“There will be no shortage of money for emergency aid. We have that money. Now, first we need a war PEC that authorizes us. And secondly, it must be rooted in a commitment to fiscal responsibility, ”declared the minister.
On the other hand, even with this monetary guarantee for emergency aid, Guedes has not announced what the possible spending cuts will be.
On this occasion, Guedes presented that the extension of the emergency aid should be up to four months, but without mentioning the value of the benefit. If the Covid-19 pandemic has not been controlled after these months, the government can carry out a new analysis to add more quotas.
“We can provide two, three or four months of emergency assistance, while we watch the progress of the disease. If the disease returns, we put on a protective layer, but temporary, and within a protocol that, if the disease remains with us for a year, two years, etc., the counterparts are already established. Or we run the risk of a total lack of fiscal control ”, added Guedes.
The amount can be R $ 250, according to the minister.
