At the end of the week, Paulo Guedes, Minister of Economy, said that the government will anticipate the thirteenth salary of the “most fragile” and the “oldest.” The minister did not give details, but said the measure will be adopted after the budget is approved.
Guedes’ statement came after a meeting with Daniel Freitas (PSL-SC), deputy and rapporteur for the reform proposal to the Emergency Constitution. The text was approved by the Federal Senate and sent to the Chamber of Deputies. Earlier this year, Valdo Cruz, a columnist for G1 and Globo News, had revealed that the government would anticipate the 13th INSS retirees and the salary bonus.
“The salary bonus has already been anticipated. Now, as soon as the budget is approved, the thirteenth of the most fragile, of the oldest, will be brought forward, as we did the other time. BEM, which is the job preservation program, new foundations are already being launched. So there is more to come, ”Guedes said.
Guedes had already stated that the program of suspension of contracts and reduction of working hours would be resumed. But the minister also did not give details about the new extension of the program, which began last year to alleviate the increase in unemployment during the new coronavirus pandemic.
The minister also defended mass vaccination against Covid-19. “The great challenge is mass vaccination. In health, we must act quickly so as not to sink the Brazilian economy again. In addition to the human dimension, the tragedies, the families, there is a danger that the economy will turn upside down and then the whole Brazilian problem will worsen ”, he said. “Now it’s health, mass vaccination, let’s not talk about Bolsa Família now.”
The anticipation of the thirteenth salary of the INSS was made in 2020
In 2020, the quotas of the 13th INSS salary They were paid between the end of April and the beginning of June, due to the Covid-19 pandemic. According to the official INSS calendar, the fees had to be paid at the end of the year, although it was customary for the first installment to be advanced to the month of August.
The Senate was still analyzing the possibility of creating a 14th salary for retirees and pensioners of the INSS, with the aim of benefiting citizens who have already retired from the 13th and are still facing financial difficulties due to the pandemic. However, the project did not come off paper and was not carried out.
