Jair Fernandes Pereira, who would turn 49 on February 4, passed away after being in a car accident while shopping for grilled meat to celebrate his birthday. Jair’s vehicle was run over by another car that was traveling at high speed, on Guaicurus Avenue, in Campo Grande, Mato Grosso do Sul.
In addition to the man, his friend Mauro Jorge Pereira Nantes, 54, who was also with him, died immediately.
According to the victim’s family, the car that collided with 20-year-old Vinícius Oliveira Gonçalves, who was at the wheel, and a woman whose identity was not disclosed. An ex-boyfriend was chasing her on a motorcycle. With that, Vinícius sped up and ended up hitting Jair.
