Manaus – A video showing the neglect of public health in Amazonas went viral on social media on Sunday afternoon (3) and gained national impact. In about 35 seconds, it is possible to notice that the servers are fed in an improvised way and share space between stretchers and patients with Covid-19 at the Hospital Platão Araújo, on the east side of Manaus.

According to the server responsible for the recording, whose name was not disclosed, the servers do not have a suitable place to prepare their meals. “Where is the security? Only one professional, a doctor, here responsible for all these patients. We lack the personnel, equipment and a place to feed ourselves safely, ”he said.

Still in the images, it is possible to see stretchers with patients, one next to the other, with hospital waste on the floor, in addition to servers without masks.

According to the State Department of Health (SES-AM), the place that was previously used for meals was to be used to increase the number of beds. SES-AM also reported that this is not the correct standard adopted by the state and that a new cafeteria will be made available.
