A woman was shot dead in front of her six-year-old son yesterday (1st), in Goiânia. Caroline Conceição do Nascimento, 26, was shot by her husband, who was working as a civil guard, after an argument.
The boy managed to enlist the help of the neighbors, who called the Military Police. He would have said that he was also afraid that his father would kill him.
According to the Goiás Civil Police, Anderson Gomes Pedro Pupim, 40, was arrested on the spot and confessed to the crime.
He allegedly claimed that Caroline took his gun and shot him twice during an argument. The civil guard said that he managed to take the woman’s pistol and shot her twice. One of the shots would have hit the victim in the back.
Pupim was sent by the Firefighters to the Goiânia Emergency Hospital, with a wound also on his back, with a stable state of health.
The Goiânia Civil Guard said in a statement that it has been out of office for years and receives internal and external supervision from the institution.
Caroline was from Amapá and had no family in Goiânia. According to the police, she has had a protection measure against her husband since December.
According to the Guardianship Council, the girl is under the guardianship of the neighbors until her grandmother from Macapá arrives to pick her up.
