Governor of the State of São Paulo, João Doria
The government of São Paulo published in the Official Gazette of the State on Thursday (31), decree 65,437 that extends the quarantine on behalf of Covid-19 until February 7. The João Doria (PSDB) administration highlights the concern about the increase in cases of contamination and deaths from the coronavirus.
The data updated on Thursday (31) by the State Department of Health represents 1,462,297 cases in the state and 46,717 deaths.
Until Wednesday 30, the Government of the State of São Paulo had disbursed R $ 4.160 billion for measures to combat the coronavirus.
RED PHASE
This Friday (1), the State returns to the red phase of the São Paulo Plan, the most restrictive to contain the new coronavirus. Like last weekend, at Christmas, this Friday, Saturday (2) and Sunday (3), shops and shopping centers do not open. Bars and restaurants can only be used for delivery. Bauru did not adhere to this determination.
The parks will also be closed in the city of São Paulo for long vacations, as well as at Christmas and unlike the previous weekends. Due to long vacations, many services are closed. Banks, for example, do not open this Friday (31).
In the second (4), the State returns to the yellow phase, when trade returns to normal. Bars can open until 8pm and restaurants until 10pm, but they can only sell alcohol until 8pm. The regression to the red phase in the New Year holidays, according to the direction of João Doria (PSDB), is produced by the increase in the number of cases. Last weekend, 20 cities, including Bauru, were in the yellow phase, according to the government, which claims to have notified the municipalities and taken the case to the Public Ministry.
On Wednesday, the attorney general, Mario Sarrubbo, issued a recommendation to mayors to follow the government’s determination. In the text, Sarrubbo mentions “the provisions of article 268 of the Penal Code, which typifies the conduct of violation of a determination of the public power, aimed at preventing the introduction or spread of a contagious disease.”
According to the Public Ministry, Sarrubbo recommends that mayors “promote the adaptation of municipal legislation and the acts of the administration, related to restrictive measures aimed at containing Covid-19, to the most restrictive regulations that the State dictates the measures applicable legal “.
