Currently, the Fire Department is fighting a fire at the São Gonçalo Hospital and Clinic, in the Center. According to the G1 website, a person who was in the ICU died and there are injuries at the site. According to witnesses, the fire spread between the fifth and seventh floors of the unit.
According to the corporation, at 1:26 p.m., agents of the São Gonçalo group were summoned to fight the fire in the hospital unit, located on Rua Coronel Moreira César. Still, according to firefighters, one person died and three others were injured.
In videos that circulate on the internet you can see patients being transferred by health professionals, in another video people who pass by the place say that the heat is felt from the street and the windows of the unit were broken by the fire.
Hospital staff said three were injured at the scene, but their health status was not reported. All were transferred to other rooms in the hospital. There was no need to move to another unit.
