The 53-year-old veterinarian Sérgio Luis Bocardi was arrested in the early hours of this Wednesday (23) for threatening and trying to rape his wife.

The wife, 55, and the veterinarian’s daughter, 24, called the police at dawn and said they were locked in a room in the house, hiding from Sergio, who was trying to break down the door. Victims also reported that the suspect had two firearms in the home and had been in the room for three hours.
The authorities went to the scene and approached the vet. He told the Military Police that he was trying to break down the door because the woman had lost the key to the room, where she was supposed to take the medications. The wife denied the situation.
The woman said that Sergio, between the night of last Sunday (20) to Monday (21), locked himself in the room with her and, armed with a revolver, played ‘Russian roulette’ on his head and pointed the gun. The next day, after the assaults, while the victim was taking medication in bed, the suspect tried to rape her.
Sérgio was arrested and both of his weapons were also seized. He was referred to the Emergency Attention Service for Women Victims of Domestic and Sexual Violence in Cuiabá, where he was presented to the delegate on duty. He was arrested in flagrante delicto for the crime of threat under the Maria da Penha Law.
