The victims were rescued, but one of them did not survive the injuries and died at the UPA
A 3-year-old girl died and her mother and a brother, only 1 year old, were injured during a fire inside the house, this Monday morning (21), in Betim, in the metropolitan region of Belo Horizonte.
According to preliminary information from the Fire Department, a neighbor said that a lot of smoke was coming out of the family’s residence, located in the Industrial São Luiz neighborhood.
The children were referred to the city’s Emergency Unit (UPA), but the oldest, who had 90% of his body burned, did not resist the injuries.
The health of the baby, who had 80% of his body hit by the flames, is considered serious. A corporate plane heads to a soccer field near the UPA to transfer the victim. The mother also needed to be rescued by helicopter and was sent to the Hospital de Pronto Socorro João XXIII, in the capital.
The causes of the fire are still unknown and the event is ongoing.
