According to Isa Penna’s note, she and other lawmakers have been harassed on other occasions. “Congresswoman Isa Penna is known for working to combat violence against women and affirms that the political gender violence that she suffered publicly in ALESP is unfortunately not an exceptional case, since she and the deputies Mônica Seixas and Erica Malunguinho, from the same party, have been harassed on previous occasions, ”the note says.
The deputy said that she will register a police report against Cury to open a representation against him in the Council of Ethics of the Chamber. “The case in which we live is not isolated. We see political and institutional violence against women all the time. What gives someone the right to touch an intimate part of my body. My chest is intimate. It is my body. I am here asking for the right to stand and speak with the Speaker of the Assembly without being harassed, ”Penna said.
Alesp informed that the Ethics Council will evaluate the case.
