The ecologist and documentary filmmaker Ernesto Galiotto was flying over Praia do Peró, some 300 meters high, last Friday (11), when his cell phone fell from the flight.

The fall, which lasted about 15 seconds, was recorded by the cell phone itself. The day after the episode, Ernesto managed to recover the device, which was intact, with only minor damage to the screen protector film, which cracked.

“It’s something that if you tell someone, they don’t believe it. It was a God to help us! At the moment, I even said a bad word, but then I thought and said: ‘I’m going to get this cell phone back,’ ”said the documentary maker.

Ernesto also spoke about the phone crash. “In 15 seconds, [o aparelho] hit the ground. It was about 200 meters from the water, and a few meters there was a couple on the beach. It fell at 11:10 am on Friday. He fell with the screen facing down and was filming an hour and a half. I think the sun has recharged, because when we came to recover, it was still 16% charged on Saturday, around 8:50 am, ”he said.

“I had faith that I was going to recover. I thought, ‘If it didn’t fall into the water, we’ll find it.’ By a few feet, it could have hit a person – and, with that flying height, 2 thousand and a few feet, it would be a tragedy, imagine? But there was no tragedy, there were many emotions, as Roberto Carlos says ”, recalled the environmentalist.

The cell phone, to the delight of the documentary maker, was found by a GPS tracking function with the help of Victor Oliveira Tostes, a computer technician. “We walked for about 5 minutes until we got closer to the cell phone. I was in a sandy region, screen facing down. Sunlight reflected off the deck, and I was soon able to identify myself in the middle of the sand. Surprisingly, it was intact, working perfectly, with only a part of the protective film on the screen broken, ”said Victor.

“First, I thought I had fallen into the water. I even thought that the fish here in Peró were already doing something, but no. Here is the cell phone, we located it with the support of Victor, as always. Okay. One less bill to pay the Blue Flag, I’ll take over! ”, Ernesto concluded.

CELL PHONE FALLS BY PLANE AND IS FOUND THE FOLLOWING DAY During a flight over Praia do Peró, in Cabo Frio / RJ, the cell phone of environmentalist Ernesto Galiotto collapsed through the window and filmed the entire fall. The most interesting thing is that he stayed until the next day, almost 12 hours in a row. And it was found thanks to the GPS service. Follow this story and enjoy our video!
