A 4-year-old boy and a 14-year-old boy died in a serious accident this Saturday afternoon in Rio dos Cedros, in the Itajaí Valley, in Santa Catarina. The car in which they were with their parents fell into a lake in a dam. The couple managed to get out, but the brothers stayed in the vehicle, which submerged. The information was disclosed by G1.
Firefighters were called around 4:20 pm, after the car with the Blumenal family lost on the dirt road, crashed into a ravine and rolled over into the lake of the Pinhal dam water reservoir.
By the time rescuers reached the scene, the two adults had already managed to get out of the car, but the brothers were still inside the submerged vehicle. The youngest is the couple’s son and the girl is the man’s daughter, according to information from the fire department.
The two were removed from the side by divers, however, no longer vital signs. They tried to revive the brothers, but they did not resist and died on the spot. The Blumenal Legal Medical Institute was activated.
Firefighters also report that the site is about a meter deep, but it was enough for the water to cover the vehicle. No other details of the accident were released.
