The municipality of Itabira reported on Thursday (10) that, as of Saturday (12), the municipality will withdraw to the red wave Minas Consciente. After an internal meeting, Mayor Ronaldo Magalhães decided to make a new decree. For now, you have chosen to allow wholesale and retail business to operate. Bars and restaurants can also remain open, as long as they follow the strictest operating rules.
The rigidity will also be adopted in the inspections of the Posture section of the Secretariat of Urban Development, which should intensify the monitoring of commercial activities in Itabira. The main update of all services is in the reference footage for customer service: one client for every 10 m² of space.
The attorney general of the Prefecture of Itabira, Leonardo de Souza Rosa, explained that it is necessary to balance health security with the economy.
“We approve new attitudes so that citizens and businesses do not suffer more damage. As the competition to close, or not, an establishment is ours, we will have a larger contingent to inspect with the support of the Military Police. The store will operate in the hours already announced by the Itabira Chamber of Merchants (CDL). We have to make it very clear that this monitoring is carried out weekly. If the citizen is not careful and does not do the proper isolation, next week we can go to confinement. We will need, once again, that the population, the businessmen and the merchant help us ”, he commented.

- Retail: Stores may open extended hours to avoid crowds – see the Christmas program established in Decree 4.007, of November 6, 2020 -, with access control.
- Feeding: bars and restaurants must close until 10 pm. In these places it is forbidden to consume standing up and circulate in the environment without using the mask.
- Academies: Gyms must also obey the aforementioned social distance images.
- Native: the safe updating of the red wave rules responds, above all, to the needs of the economic sectors that have Christmas as their main financial movement of the year.
All the new rules will appear in the municipal decree that will be published this Friday (11), in the Official Gazette.
Conscious mines
The program is designed to make social isolation measures more flexible in a responsible manner in each municipality, thus allowing the partial recovery of the economy and observing the impact on the health system.
According to data provided by the city, the risk level of the municipality increased in the last monitoring of Covid-19 contagion and reached 20 points (ranging from 0 to 32), fitting in the red wave. The program indicates that only essential services will be able to function at this stage of Conscious Mines, but the municipalities have the autonomy to define what can work.
