Lot with 600 liters of raw material for the Coronavac vaccine, produced by the Chinese laboratory Sinovac in association with the Butantan Institute, arrived in São Paulo this Thursday (3).
The governor of São Paulo, João Doria (PSDB) was at the Guarulhos airport together with the director of the Butantan Institute, Dimas Covas, and the state health secretary, Jean, to accompany the arrival of the material.
“We came here to receive another batch of the CoronaVac vaccine, the Butantan vaccine, the vaccine that will save the lives of millions of Brazilians. Today we receive supplies for 1 million doses of the vaccine. In addition to the 20,000 that we have already received, we now have 1 million and 120,000 doses of the vaccine. At the end of this month of December, we will be receiving six million doses of the vaccine at Guarulhos airport, totaling seven million and 120 thousand doses of the vaccine. And next January, until January 15, another 40 million doses of the vaccine. The Butantan vaccine, the vaccine that saves lives, ”said Doria.

The shipment of supplies, which can deliver up to 1 million doses of vaccines against Covid-19, arrived at 5:27 am at Guarulhos airport.
This is the second shipment of orders from the state government of the Chinese laboratory. The first was with 120,000 doses of vaccines ready, on November 19.
The batch will be transported to Butantan, in a vehicle that will have a special escort.
The inputs are the “ingredients” necessary for the completion of the vaccine in the country. Butantan will be in charge of completing the final manufacturing stage.
In total, according to the agreement, Butantan will receive 6 million ready-to-use doses from the Chinese laboratory and will formulate and fill another 40 million doses.
The Coronavac vaccine is still pending registration and authorization from the National Health Surveillance Agency (Anvisa) for its use.
