Russian model Lilia Sudakova, 26, was accused of stabbing her husband in the heart after a fit of jealousy. Lilia’s mother, Irena Sudakova, 48, told the local newspaper Komsomolskaya Pravda that her daughter was a victim of domestic violence and that she acted in self-defense. According to Irena, the daughter’s husband was drunk on the day of the crime.
Another witness reportedly told the model’s mother that Popov grabbed her by the hair and kicked her in the legs. Then, while the model was cutting vegetables, he would have tried to attack her again.
“Lilia is a victim, it was in self-defense. That was such a sick love. Everything happened by accident, it was an accident, ”said the model’s mother. “The fact that he hit her first, that he is abusive, that doesn’t bother anyone,” Irena lamented, criticizing Russian laws.
The model’s friend, stylist Karolina Pavlovskaya, also said that Lilia was a victim of abuse. “She was a broken girl with a beautiful appearance, but with an inner emptiness,” he said.
