Candidate in the second round of elections for the Ribeirão Preto City Council (SP), Suely Vilela (PSB) acknowledged the defeat at the polls to the opposition Duarte Nogueira (PSDB) shortly after the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) declared his re-election .

In an official note, Suely thanked the 90,065 votes received this Sunday (29), equivalent to 36.84% of the total.

“I would like to thank all the voters who honored me with their vote. Thanks to my deputy, Matheus Eduardo, for the camaraderie during the campaign. I would like to thank my entire team, the candidates for councilors who accompanied us, and especially the representatives Ricardo Silva and Rafael Silva for their support and companionship.

I thank all the press for joining us during this period.

We worked hard throughout the campaign, we built a city project aimed at improving people’s quality of life, we walked through the different neighborhoods, I met wonderful people and families, true examples that marked my life. It was a great learning experience.

The choice is up to the voter. I wish Duarte Nogueira a successful government.

Suely Vilela is 66 years old, divorced and a full professor at the University of São Paulo (USP). She was the first dean in the history of the university (2005-2009). He has a doctorate in biological sciences from the Ribeirão Preto Faculty of Medicine and has worked in national and international research in the areas of biochemistry and pharmacy. Its equity declared to the TSE is R $ 1,931,083.42.

The candidate reached the second round of the elections on November 15, obtaining 52,266 votes, 20.72% of the total. In first place in the poll, Duarte Nogueira obtained 115,724 votes, 45.87%.

The candidate’s government plan cited a management model with four axes – functional sustainable, social sustainability, operational structuring and participatory community – and proposals focused mainly on development, health and education.

Suely Vilela pledged to create a Ministry of Economic Development and map the potential of the municipality with an emphasis on technology and innovation, in addition to tourism. Suely also promised to prioritize sustainable products in school meals. In health, I wanted to take advantage of the existing structure that still does not work, strengthen the Family Health Program and adopt a single information system. In this context, he also cited telemedicine consultations. In early childhood education, it paid attention to maternal health and the expansion of the nursery supply. He also planned to adopt hybrid education to make up for lost content due to the pandemic. He highlighted criteria for the approval of new subdivisions, specific laws for the protection of the Guaraní Aquifer and consortia for services such as water treatment. He also cited animal castration campaigns.
