The PP candidate, Tião Bocalom, was elected this Sunday (29) mayor of Rio Branco, capital of Acre. He defeated Socorro Neri, candidate for reelection by the PSB, with whom he disputed the second round of the elections. Bocalom was elected with 62.93% of the votes.
“Obviously, first of all we are going to do an audit to know how the contracts are going and everything that has happened. So first of all, it’s an audit. Obviously, health is in chaos and we have to answer this question. “said the elected candidate.
It will be Bocalom’s first term as mayor of the capital of Acre and his alternate will be Marfisa Galvão (PP).

With 100% of the votes counted, Bocalom totaled 104,746 votes, or 62.93% of the valid ones, defeating the current mayor, Socorro Neri (PSB), who had 61,702 votes (37.07%). Bocalom had the support of President Jair Bolsolnaro (no party).
Whites 3,328 (1.91%) and null 4,473 (2.57%) added 7,801 votes. There were also 84,424 abstentions (32.11%), more than the vote of the defeated candidate.
Adding blanks, nulls and abstentions, there were 92,225 “no votes”.
Tião Bocalom, PP candidate, was born in Bela Vista do Paraíso (PR) and was mayor of Acrelândia, a city in the interior of Acre, for two terms. At the age of 67, he is a professor trained in Mathematics at the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters of Mandaguari (Fafiman) and in Physical and Biological Sciences at the Faculty of Physical and Biological Sciences of Umuarama (PR). In addition to being mayor, Bocalom was already a councilor in the city of Nova Olímpia, in Paraná, where he began his political career.
