Diego Maradona’s lawyer, Matías Morla, used social media on Thursday to indicate that he will fight for an investigation into the death of his client. In an official statement, the professional assured that Maradona did not “receive care” for 12 hours, despite having a medical team available at home, and said that the ambulance called to help the star was slow to arrive.
– It is inexplicable that for 12 hours my friend did not have the attention of health personnel dedicated to these purposes. The ambulance took over half an hour to arrive, which was criminal idiocy.

Matías Morla had been working with Maradona for some years and was often one of the few authorized to give information about the star. The 12 hours without attention cited by the lawyer refer to reports in the Argentine press, which indicated that the last person in the family to see Maradona alive was his nephew, on Tuesday night.

“Olé” indicated that Maradona woke up early on Wednesday, had breakfast, walked a little and a few hours later returned to bed, as he used to do to regain energy. He would have to get up again at 12:00, something that did not happen. When his private nurse came into the room to call him, they found Maradona passed out.

There, the medical team that had worked with Maradona in recent weeks would have asked for help, with calls asking for ambulances, in addition to seeking help inside the condominium where the star lived. Nine ambulances had arrived at the scene, some with long delays; others, however, would have been quick. But resuscitation attempts did not work in the face of cardiopulmonary arrest.

And as for the information from the San Isidro authorities, it is inexplicable that for 12 hours my friend did not have the care of health personnel dedicated to these purposes. The ambulance took over half an hour to arrive, which was criminal idiocy.
This fact should not be overlooked and I will ask that it be investigated to the ultimate consequences. As Diego told me: you are my soldier, act without mercy.
