“We will not close anything at this time. Our action is to create awareness. We made a pact so that we increase the hygiene rules and have a greater capacity for service, ”said the governor at a press conference at the Guanabara Palace, in Laranjeiras, Rio’s South Zone.
The announcement of the acting governor comes at a time when there is an increase in the number of deaths and Covid cases in the state. The moving average of deaths, this Tuesday, presented a 216% change compared to the previous two weeks.
In addition, it is the eighth consecutive day of growth in the moving average of deaths is he higher percentage of projection since April 20 (264%).

Despite the announcement, the head of the state executive ruled out that Rio de Janeiro is experiencing a second wave and i promised that Inspections against those who fail to comply with sanitary measures will be stricter.
After a meeting with sectors of commerce and other services on Tuesday, Castro assured that there will be, according to him, the closure of activities.
“We cannot be irresponsible to call Rio the victim of a second wave. We also had municipal elections, which may have been preponderant due to the increase in numbers,” he reflected.
As I had anticipated in the G1 The journalist Edimilson Ávila, Castro also announced another 400 beds for patients infected with the new coronavirus.

This Tuesday, Castro will meet with mayors of the Metropolitan Region to discuss how to improve the inspection of crowded sites, potential vectors of Covid.
“My proposal, in this meeting with the mayors, is to ‘grease’ this inspection issue. We are sure that by increasing inspection, by increasing the number of vacancies and with the help of those who are here, the numbers will decrease a lot ”.
Castro also announced that the Department of Health already plans, with the arrival of the vaccine, to start the state immunization plan.
“The state will buy everything necessary so that it does not have to buy later, in case of emergency, or above the price,” the governor explained.
The Secretary of State Health, Carlos Alberto Chaves, added that the massive tests must begin in the modular hospital of Nova Iguaçu, in Baixada Fluminense.
“There will be tests and x-rays, and hospitalization if he has any pathology. (…) The forecast is that it begins in 48 hours,” explained Chaves.
In addition to the modular hospital in Nova Iguaçu, Chaves said other units – without saying which ones – could also be used to carry out the tests. The secretary also said the state “found” 214 beds that were not being used.
