The Dr. Waldemar Tebaldi Municipal Hospital confirmed that the 18-year-old patient José Carlos de Lima Neto, who suffered a work accident on Monday (23), could not resist his injuries and died at 10:41 am on Tuesday (24) .

Residing in the Vila Dainese neighborhood, the patient had been admitted to the HM emergency department after being pressed on the skull by one of the machines. His health condition was considered very serious, according to the medical team that treated him.

The hospital also said X-rays and CT scans were performed on the victim, who was intubated.

Accident

The work accident occurred late in the afternoon on Monday at the Eplam Embalagens Plásticos company, located in Vila Galo, in Americana.

According to the Fire Department, which attended the incident, the boy, an employee of the Eplam company, had his skull pressed down by one of the machines.

Three firefighters came to the scene, on Rua Timbiras, around 4:30 p.m. They found the victim unconscious and bleeding badly.

The young man was rescued and sent to the Dr. Waldemar Tebaldi Municipal Hospital, in Americana, in serious condition.

In a note, the company regretted what happened and made itself available to provide the necessary assistance and all support to the family.

“The management also reinforces that the accident that occurred at its American plant, on Monday, November 23, is already being investigated by the competent authorities and will do everything possible to investigate all the facts,” said the company.
