The city of São Gonçalo, in the Metropolitan Region of Rio, is all Covid-19 beds occupied – both the ITC and nursing.

Extended social isolation

On Thursday (19), Mayor José Luiz Nanci promulgated new isolation measures.

The municipal administration reported that, following the guidelines of the Health Surveillance, is prohibited in the city the operation of various activities. They are:

  • Tourist sectors;
  • Culture;
  • Recreation;
  • Education;
  • Churches;
  • Academies and the like.

Due to the increase in the number of cases and deaths from Covid-19, the The city, which had a yellow flag (low risk), passes the orange flag (medium risk).

In the bulletin released by the Ministry of Health of RJ on Wednesday (18), the municipality appears with 803 cases of death. São Gonçalo has 15,369 people infected by the disease.

The city also reinforced the need for distance, use of a mask, alcohol and temperature measurement at the entrance of establishments.

Banks, lottery houses and government offices must reserve a preferential attention time for people over 60 years of age or belonging to groups at risk.

The restriction measure does not apply to health services such as: medical, dental, ophthalmological, vaccination and physical therapy clinics, clinical and imaging laboratories.

Shopping centers, shopping centers and galleries can also operate at 2/3 of their capacity, but with restricted hours. These stores begin to open from 12:00 pm to 8:00 pm, with the obligation to use masks for customers and employees, temperature measurement, availability of alcohol gel and disinfectant. Children’s play areas must remain closed.

Food courts and kiosks should be limited to 2/3 of the capacity of tables and seats. The use of changing rooms is prohibited in stores. Parking spaces must also be limited to 2/3 of total capacity.
