The new decree published by the current mayor of São Gonçalo, José Luiz Nanci, will once again affect local merchants and the routine of the city. Decree No. 342/2020 maintains the emergency situation, in the scope of the municipality of São Gonçalo, declared by the Ministry of Health, due to the pandemic caused by the coronavirus.

Among the measures, the holding of events and any activity with public presence, in which a multitude of people participate, such as public sporting events, shows, rallies, demonstrations and the like, was once again prohibited.

In the event of non-compliance with any measure provided for in the decree, offenders may be arrested for the crime of disobedience and referred to the police authority.

For traders, operating restrictions are back in place. As a result, the hours will change and, depending on the establishment, the service will only be allowed by appointment.

In the case of traders in the food sector, the ‘take away’ system will work, that is, the customer must withdraw their order and take it home.

Changes after the decree

Health services such as: medical, dental, ophthalmological, vaccination and physiotherapy clinics, clinical and imaging examinations laboratories continue to function normally.

Banks and lotteries: access will be done in an orderly manner, to avoid crowds.

Pharmacies and drug stores, hypermarkets, supermarkets, markets and food supply centers, bakeries, pet stores, opticians, gas stations, key rings, hairdressers and beauty salons. These should work with 2/3 of their capacity.

Bars, restaurants, and similar establishments may operate with normal on-site food delivery and pick-up.

Shopping centers, shopping centers and galleries can operate exclusively from 12 noon to 8 pm. Convenience stores, on the other hand, will not be able to gather people.

It is also determined that the bus companies must maintain the operation of 100% of the municipal lines, but without standing passengers and the vehicle must have the windows open for full air circulation.

In relation to funerals, those who are not victims of Covid-19 must take place between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. and the time of the funeral ceremony must be limited to 1 hour, with a limit of 10 people, with protective masks and make the alcohol gel available.
