In one of the testimonies of Adélio Bispo de Oliveira, a man who stabbed then-presidential candidate Jair Bolsonaro, said he considered allying with the right and participating in protests against the PT. The documents with Adélio’s statements were obtained by Uol.
According to the report by journalist Amaury Ribeiro Jr, Adélio gave five testimonies to delegate Rodrigo Morais, of the Federal Police. He also gave two statements to forensic psychiatrists at the Campo Grande federal prison.
The day after the attack on Bolsonaro, on September 7, 2018, Adélio affirmed that since 2005 he participated in demonstrations in Curitiba against the corruption that occurred during the Lula government. “Especially in relation to the events known as ‘monthly payment’,” Adélio explained to the PF.
The following year, on February 7, 2019, Adélio mentioned the fact again when he was heard by psychiatrists in the federal prison of Mato Grosso do Sul. On the occasion, he also said that when he joined the protesters, “he was carrying a funeral coffin , painted black that he had made himself, since they did not want to sell it ”.
Right-wing party affiliation
Also according to Adélio’s statements to psychiatrists, in 2014 he would have searched the PSD directory in Uberaba (MG), a right-wing association, seeking information to join. However, the affiliation did not materialize.
According to Adélio, he decided to seek out the PSD after requesting the PSOL parade in the same city. The reason, according to him, was that the PSOL did not approve his candidacy for federal deputy.
In the forensic psychiatric report sent to the judge of the 3rd Federal Criminal Court of Campo Grande, the specialists conclude that Adélio has permanent delusional disorders. “The root of the disease is genetic, reinforced by traumatic childhood experiences,” says the report.
Unimpeachable
In June 2019, federal judge Bruno Savino, of Juiz de Fora, decided to acquit Adélio. The magistrate transformed the preventive prison into provisional prison and kept Adélio in the Federal Maximum Security Penitentiary of Campo Grande (MS).
In the decision, the judge explains that Adélio was deemed incompetent. “As the unimputability excludes guilt, the conduct of the accused, although typical and illegal, cannot be punished for not being legally reprehensible, since the accused suffers from a mental illness that inhibited his ability to understand the illegal nature of the act and determine the according to this knowledge, “said the magistrate.
