Private for more than a year, Paulo Cupertino continues to elude the authorities. Accused of murdering actor Rafael Miguel and the boy’s parents, Cupertino fled a week ago from his last hiding place in the city of Eldorado, in Mato Grosso do Sul.

Following the Cupertino trail, authorities have already toured at least 12 cities in Mato Grosso do Sul and Paraná. Some of these cities border Paraguay.

Local authorities have already issued a warning to the Paraguayan police. The border with the country continues to be monitored.

Police believe that, as Paulo hastened away from his last hiding place, it will be difficult to convince his few contacts in the region to seek refuge.

Alfonso Heisfeintein, owner of the place where Paulo Cupertino lived, is also a fugitive.
