A Federal Highway Police waited for authorization from his competition public (PRF 2021 Contest) in October. However, the document was not published in the Official Gazette of the Federation.
The corporation expected to receive authorization until October and, therefore, already had a prior schedule for the next stages of the contest. The calendar proposed by the PRF was 30 days between each of the next phases of the contest: election of the board of directors and publication of the announcement.
However, the executive director of the PRF, José Hott, confirmed that he is still waiting for a new notice in 2020. According to him, the schedule will undergo “small adjustments”, but everything is as planned.
The director has yet to reveal more details of the new schedule. However, everything indicates, for an announcement in 2020, the PRF will have a time well below 30 days between each stage, counting that the authorization document of the contest comes out in November.
If the tender authorization is not published in November, it is highly unlikely that the PRF will have enough time to resolve the tender process in 2020, as the tender process has yet to be evaluated by the organizing board.
Meeting of PRF with the Economy
The PRF recently held a meeting with the Ministry of Economy, responsible for authorizing tenders. The meeting between the bodies was confirmed by the director José Hott himself through social networks. He only pointed out that he had an ‘excellent meeting’, without going into details.
“This week we had an excellent meeting with the Ministry of Economy, we remain optimistic!” Said the director.
The director’s response came shortly after a question from a follower who asked him about the clearance deadline for the ad to come out later this year. He answers:
“It depends on some factors related to administrative flows. After authorization we have to hire the organizer and finalize the public notice together with him, ”he said.
According to the executive director of PRF, 2,000 vacancies are expected in the next PRF competition.

The PRF 2021 contest
The salaries offered by the PRF reach R $ 10,357.88 for higher education and R $ 4,022.77 for secondary education.

The third-class police officer has the mission of carrying out police activities of inspection, patrolling and ostensive surveillance, assistance and assistance to victims of traffic accidents and other functions related to the operational area of the Federal Highway Police, while The second class will have to carry out activities of a police nature that imply the execution and administrative and operational control of the activities inherent to the position, in addition to Third Class functions.
PRF works in partnership with other institutions, such as the Public Ministry of Labor (MPT), the Federal Police (PF), the National Sanitary Surveillance Agency (Anvisa), the Federal Revenue Service, the Brazilian Institute of the Environment (Ibama) , the National Land Transportation Agency. (ANTT) and others.

Police deficit
The need for new public tenders in Public Security, especially in the PRF, is evident due to the shortage of personnel. The corporation’s shortage reached more than 8,000 police officers in 2018.
The information released by the Federal Highway Police, at that time, showed that the number of employees in November 2018 was 10,029 employees, when the ideal would be 18,424 in the corporation. The total shortage was 8,395 professionals, with vacancies derived from retirements, deaths, layoffs, transfers, among other reasons.
In 2019, the federal government demonstrated its intention to hold PRF contests annually, with 1,000 seats. The intention is to restore the situation and reach 13,098 police officers by 2022. However, this promise has not been fulfilled so far.
According to the president of FenaPRF, Deolindo Carniel, the promise came from the president of the Republic, Jair Bolsonaro. The category representative said that the PRF has almost 10,000 vacancies filled. The measure would help fight the corporation’s staff shortage.
The last contest had more than 129 thousand subscribers
The last public PRF contest was launched in November 2018. On the occasion, Cebraspe (formerly Cespe / UnB) organized the event. The offer was for 500 immediate vacancies, all for the Federal Highway Police.
The event had, in total, more than 129 thousand registered. The highest demand was Pará, with 12,700 applicants for 81 places, followed by Goiás with 12,605 applicants and Rio Grande do Sul, 11,559.
The objective tests and writing were applied on February 3, in the different Federal Units with vacancies.
The participants answered 120 questions, distributed in three blocks.
