The InfoGripe newsletter, published weekly by the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (Fiocruz), shows that ten Brazilian capitals show signs of moderate growth, probability greater than 75%, or strong, probability greater than 95% in the long-term trend (six weeks) of cases. Severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) and covid-19.
In Aracaju, Florianópolis, Fortaleza, João Pessoa, Macapá, Maceió and Salvador there is a strong sign of long-term growth. In the capitals, Belém, São Luís and São Paulo, there is a moderate sign of growth in the number of infected people for the long-term trend, accompanied by a sign of stabilization in the short-term trend.
The capitals, Belém, Florianópolis, Fortaleza, João Pessoa, Macapá, Salvador and São Luís have fulfilled at least one month with the maintenance of the growth signal in the long-term trend each week.
The reported cases and deaths in the country are very high, according to the bulletin. InfoGripe’s coordinator, researcher Marcelo Gomes, pointed out that 20 of the 27 capitals show signs of stability or growth in the long-term trend.
The capital of São Paulo, for its part, shows signs of long-term growth for the first time since the beginning of the decline process, although it is already showing signs of a possible interruption of the downward trend. Porto Alegre showed signs of stabilization in both the short and long-term trends.
Marcelo Gomes highlighted the need for caution in relation to the next few weeks, especially in relation to possible advances in actions to make more flexible measures to reduce contagion in the state capital.
Campo Grande, in Mato Grosso do Sul, did not confirm a signal of stabilization in the long-term trend, returning to the signal of decline in this indicator. According to the InfoGripe coordinator, although the short-term trend has maintained a sign of stabilization, it is still necessary to act with caution in flexibility actions.
“As already reported in previous bulletins, we identified a significant difference between the reports of severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) in the state of Mato Grosso registered in the national Sivep-Flu system and the registries presented in the state system itself. This difference was maintained until the present update ”, evaluated Marcelo Gomes.
In 12 of the 27 federative units there is a long-term trend with signs of decline or stabilization in all the respective macro-health regions. In the remaining 15 states, Amapá, Pará and Tocantins (north), Alagoas, Bahia, Ceará, Maranhão, Paraíba and Sergipe (northeast), Minas Gerais, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo (southeast), Rio Grande do Sul and Santa Catarina (South) and Mato Grosso do Sul (Central-West) there is at least one state macro-region with a short and / or long-term trend with moderate or strong growth signs.
The analysis refers to the epidemiological week from October 18 to 24 and is based on data entered in the Influenza Epidemiological Surveillance Information System (Sivep-Flu) until the 27th of this month.
Bay
The state registered 29 deaths and 1,423 new cases of covid-19 (growth rate of + 0.4%) in 24 hours, according to an epidemiological bulletin released by the State Department of Health (Sesab) on the afternoon of this Friday. (30). In the same period, 1,614 patients were considered cured of the disease (+ 0.5%).
Of the 352,700 confirmed cases since the start of the pandemic, 337,785 are already considered recovered and 7,315 active. In total, the pandemic has officially killed 7,600 people in Bahia.
For statistical purposes, the state epidemiological surveillance considers that a patient recovered 14 days after the onset of covid-19 symptoms. Active cases are the result of the following calculation: number of total cases, fewer deaths, fewer recovered. The calculations are done automatically.
Confirmed cases occurred in 417 municipalities in Bahia, with a higher proportion in Salvador (26.13%). The municipalities with the highest incidence rates per 100,000 inhabitants were: Ibirataia (8,509.67), Almadina (6,588.58), Itabuna (6,538.23) Madre de Deus (6,452.38), Aiquara (6,140.35).

In Bahia, 28,927 health professionals were confirmed for covid-19.
Deceased
Today’s epidemiological bulletin counts 29 deaths that occurred on different dates, as shown in the table below. The existence of late registrations and / or accumulation of cases is due to the overload of the investigation teams, since there are diseases of mandatory notification in addition to covid-19. Another reason is the deepening of epidemiological investigations by municipal and state surveillance in order to avoid distortions or misunderstandings, such as not knowing the cause of death, head trauma or terminal cancer, even if the person is infected by the coronavirus.
The total number of deaths from covid-19 in Bahia since the beginning of the pandemic is 7,600, which represents a fatality of 2.15%.
Profiles
Among the deaths, 55.96% occurred in men and 44.04% in women. Regarding race and color, 54.30% corresponded to brown, followed by white with 17.88%, black with 15.04%, yellow with 0.75%, indigenous with 0.11% and there is no information in 11 , 92% of deaths.
