The day after filing a complaint for corruption in the public health area of Magé (Baixada Fluminense) and alleging, in a video, that he had received death threats, an electoral corporal was shot dead at the door of the house this Friday in the morning. 30. Renata Castro, 40, was campaigning for Renato Cozzolino, a state deputy and candidate for mayor of the municipality of Baixada Fluminense for the PP.
According to the Civil Police, he was at his door, on Florêncio Vidal Street, in the Fragoso neighborhood, when some snipers drove by and fired at least 15 shots. He died instantly. The snipers fled and had not been identified as of Friday afternoon. The case is being investigated by the Baixada Fluminense Homicide Police, but the Federal Police and the Electoral Justice are also monitoring the case to assess whether there was a political connotation.
In the video, recorded on Thursday 29, in front of the Federal Police building in Magé, Renata stated: “It is useless to threaten me with death. Today (yesterday), two citizens approached the building to threaten me, to coerce me. What I did yesterday I will do tomorrow, I will do the day after tomorrow. Another complaint here in the Federal Police ”.
