On the night of last Wednesday (28), a doctor was arrested in the city of Uberaba, in Minas Gerais, suspected of raping and assaulting a patient during an appointment.
The victim’s consultation lasted about an hour and the patient’s husband waited for his partner outside the office. The victim, in turn, did not tell her husband about the episode. She revealed the fact only to a friend, who convinced her to report the case to the Military Police.
The victim was subjected to tests that detected vaginal lesions. In testimony, he told police that the man felt his body and touched the genitals of the victim’s hand. The doctor then removed the patient’s panties and raped her. The victim also said that she did not react because the offender could claim that she was crazy, as she had been prescribed medication for anxiety. The patient also revealed that she feared, through her registration at the clinic, that the rapist would obtain her address.
The doctor was caught on the spot in front of the family. In his testimony, the man said that he attended to the woman for 40 minutes and that the door remained locked during the session, and unlocked. He denied the version told by the patient.
The man was transferred to the Uberada duty station and the Military Police said searches of the system revealed other incidents against the suspect with similar reports.
