A new stop for bus drivers and collectors begins on Wednesday (28) in Teresina. This is the second strike in less than a month. Professionals must respect the minimum vehicle circulation limit to serve the population under penalty of a daily fine of R $ 100,000.

Due to the Collective Strike Agreement, the Piauí Road Transport Companies Workers Union (Sintetro) must respect the percentage of 70% of buses at peak hours and 30% of the fleet between peak hours.

The president of Sintetro, Ajuri Dias, confirmed to Cidadeverde.com that the stoppage is maintained and there will be a public act in Praça Rio Branco, in the center of Teresina, starting at 8 in the morning.

“What ends with the judicial order or law” will be fulfilled, says the president of the Union in relation to compliance with the circulation of the minimum fleet.

The public act is also given in defense of public services, against administrative reform and in defense of public companies, with the participation of categories of other public servants.

Sintetro denounces the breach of Provisional Measure 936, which establishes the Emergency Program for Employment and Maintenance of Income, and demands the payment of the health plan and food aid.

The category also calls for better working conditions, with support points in adequate conditions at the end of lines and personal protective equipment, such as masks, alcohol gel, protection with a film screen next to the driver and against the dump trucks.

This Tuesday (27), the Regional Labor Court (TRT) accepted the request to execute the fine against the union prepared by the Ministry of Labor (MPT). The union must pay, in five days from this Tuesday (27), a fine of R $ 100 thousand in reference to the breach of the agreement on October 13 and 14.

If the union does not know the minimum percentage of the fleet in unemployment that begins on Wednesday (28), the entity may be fined again. The fine per day went from R $ 50 thousand to R $ 100 thousand.

“In the strike carried out by Sintetro, on October 13 and 14, the percentages established in that decision were not met. The Sintetro will have a period of five days to deposit the amount of R $ 100 thousand under penalty of blocking. It is expected that in the new strike, already scheduled to begin tomorrow (09/28), these percentages set in the amparo (of the collective strike agreement) will be observed by the Sintetro to avoid a new execution “, comments the regional Labor Attorney in Piauí, João Batista Machado Júnior.
