The pilot of the National Force Renato de Oliveira Souza, 55, died in the early hours of Tuesday (27). He was admitted on the last day 8 after the fall of a helicopter in the Porto Jofre region, in Poconé (MT). The aircraft was part of Operation Pantanal II, with the objective of fighting fires in the region.
As reported by the State Public Security Secretariat (Sesp-MT), on the 21st, Renato was discharged and transferred to an air ICU in Rio de Janeiro (RJ) to continue the treatment near his family.
On Monday (26), he had a sudden shortness of breath, he was rescued by an ambulance, but he could not resist. The suspicion, according to the family, is pulmonary thromboembolism.
“Renato dedicated a good part of his life to the defense of life, and it was no different in this last mission. We share our maximum respect and admiration and our feelings with family and friends ”, lamented the Secretary of State for Public Security, Alexandre Bustamante.
Renato de Oliveira Souza was a special agent of the Federal District Civil Police and was part of the National Force team since May 2016.
On the day of the accident, he was with two more members of the National Force: co-pilot Luiz Fernando Berberick, from the Rio de Janeiro Civil Police (RJ), and Second Sergeant PM Emerson Miranda Martins, also from the corporation in RJ. They were also rescued alive and hospitalized.
