Minister Luís Roberto Barroso, of the Supreme Federal Court (STF), raised on Wednesday (21) the secret of the investigation that investigates the senator and former deputy director of the government Chico Rodrigues (DEM-RR), captured with money in his underwear. The Federal Police analyzed the messages found on the senator’s cell phone. Investigators say Chico Rodrigues led the scheme that diverted pandemic resources destined for the state of Roraima.
In the report, the PF says that Senator Chico Rodrigues acted as if he were a “parallel manager” of the Roraima Health Department, demanding the release of money from parliamentary amendments to pay the companies investigated in the scheme.
The senator’s defense issued a note in which he stated that Chico Rodrigues never unduly interfered in favor of private interests in the contracts of the state of Roraima.
One of the contracts investigated was the supply of alcohol gel for sterilization against the coronavirus. According to the PF, Chico Rodrigues questions the official responsible for releasing the money. On February 29, Chico Rodrigues asked Francisvaldo about the payment for “Gilce”: “Did you advance the payment for Gilce / 18: services?”
According to the PF, “everything indicates that the senator would be collecting the payment from the company Haiplan Construções Comércio e Serviços Ltda, since one of the partners of the company is Júlio Rodrigues Ferreira, husband of Gilce de Olliveira Pinto.”
The Federal Police concludes that: “The way in which the senator collected the payment indicates that the congressman would be serving not only the interests of the state of Roraima, but also his own.”
The company, according to investigations, still delivered the wrong product: 65% alcohol, suitable for cleaning furniture, but unsuitable for sterilization.
The Federal Police also verified that Chico Rodrigues allowed his advisers to work in the private company of his son, Pedro Rodrigues, who is his father’s substitute and will occupy his seat in the Senate.
In the document, the PF wrote that “the senator’s parliamentary structure, which includes the activities of his advisers Adriana and Cláudia, is being used for the management of the private company of his son Pedro, San Sebastián, which shows, at least , the misuse of the role of their parliamentary advisers. ”
According to investigations, another core of the scheme involves Senator Chico Rodrigues, Quantum Empreendimentos em Saúde, also under investigation, and his partner, Jean Frank Padilha Lobato, who is appointed as the senator’s operator. He is married to an employee in Chico Rodrigues’ office.
The senator’s defense said in a statement that employees regularly perform their public duties.
The other people named in PF’s report did not respond.
