Three men were shot and killed in the early hours of Sunday at a funk dance in Nova Iguaçu, in Baixada Fluminense. One of them was Gabriel Ribeiro Marcondes, 20, the grandson of the samba player Neguinho da Beija-Flor.

Gabriel, Mateus da Silva Gomes and an unidentified man by the police were shot during the dance that took place in Morro da Bacia, in the Miguel Couto district, according to information from G1.

Gabriel was helped by policemen from 20 BPM (Nova Iguaçu) and taken to Hospital da Posse, but he did not resist and died in the health unit.

Shocked, samba singer Neguinho da Beija-flor said his grandson, the son of Paulo César Marcondes, was at a funk dance when he was shot, but said he did not know what happened.

– I wanted to know little. Heard you went to the place to pitch a tent. I do not know what happened.

Gabriel’s death certificate, obtained by G1, confirmed the cause of death as “injury caused by a firearm projectile.”

Gabriel’s burial is scheduled for this Monday (19), in the Nova Iguaçu cemetery.
