This Friday (17), a plane split in half after colliding with a cow while taking off. The episode took place on a track in the community of Novo Porto, in Acre.
On the plane were Manoel Herles, 32, the pilot and another passenger. In an interview with G1, Manoel told how it all happened. “The runway was clear, but the animals appeared out of nowhere. The pilot raised the front of the plane so that we didn’t hit everyone, maybe the accident would have been even bigger. We hit the ground three times, we rolled, and on the third impact the plane broke in half and only stopped when it hit a tree. It was in the back and it broke right at my feet. Everything was very fast, ”he revealed.
After the accident, the aircraft was about 15 meters from the impact with the cow. The animal was thrown at a distance of 5 meters and died.
“It was a very big scare, I can’t even explain it. I was left with only a few scratches on my leg, but there is the psychological trauma that remains, for sure. Life goes through our heads in seconds at a time like this, ”said Manoel.
The website of the National Civil Aviation Agency (Anac) indicates that the airworthiness certificate is suspended and the plane was not authorized to perform the air taxi service. The G1 was unable to contact the pilot or owner of the aircraft.
