Patients are transferred from a private hospital after a fire broke out in Asa Norte, Brasilia | federal District

A fire broke out in the Santa Lúcia Norte hospital, in the North Hospital Sector, in Brasilia, on Saturday night (17), and the place had to be evacuated.

According to the Fire Department, the flames were caused by a short circuit in the engine room of the health unit. At 8:15 pm, the corporation reported that the flames had already been controlled and the building was cleared.

According to hospital staff, shortly after 8 p.m., patients began to be relocated to their beds. Still, according to the company, no one was injured or had to be moved. Firefighters reported that more than 100 patients had to be evacuated from the building.

The fifth floor of the health unit, the one closest to the engine room where the fire started, was closed and the power was cut off. However, the site has also been launched.

According to firefighters, a thermal camera scan was carried out, which identified that there was no other “hot spot” capable of causing new flames.

On August 29, a fire in another private hospital also scared patients and professionals. The flames reached Santa Luzia, in the Southern Hospital Sector, which also needed to be evacuated.

The fire also started in the engine room and smoke reached three floors of the hospital. No one was hurt. According to the Fire Department, 24 cars and 80 soldiers worked to combat the flames.
