A corona cayman was rescued from Jaguaribe beach, in Salvador (BA), by a team from the Special Environmental Protection Group of the Municipal Civil Guard (GEPA / GCM) on the morning of this Thursday (15). The animal of about 2 meters and about 30 kg was sent to the Ibama Wild Animal Selection Center.

According to the GCM, people have activated the corporation that was in the riparian region. The action had the support of the Environmental Protection Police Company (COPPA / PMBA).

“It is essential that people do not approach any wild animal, because to protect themselves they can attack,” said GEPA acting supervisor André Ferreira. According to him, the citizen who finds a wild animal must activate the GCM.

Since 2014, the agency has rescued more than 5,400 wild animals, including 949, so far in 2020.
