On Tuesday (13), Meire Coelho dos Santos, 41, was arrested on suspicion of killing her boyfriend Sergio Junior Barbosa da Silva, 31. He was found shot to the head on September 18.
The investigation found that the woman was the perpetrator of the crime and also simulated the scene of a victim’s suicide. According to the researcher Daiana Vieira Padilha, who was in charge of the investigations, the Civil Police concluded that Sergio was murdered when he requested separation.
From the day of the crime, the police suspected that it was not a suicide. “We began to be suspicious from the day of the crime because of the way he was lying on the bed with the gun between his rib and his arm. The autopsy evidence also pointed to homicide, ”the researcher told G1.
The investigator also said that witnesses said the couple’s relationship was complicated. “She attacked him, suffered various forms of violence. Sergio told people close to him that he wanted to separate, even asking for help. She was jealous, possessive and they had had heated fights motivated by jealousy on her part. He decided to separate and even looked for a house to leave soon, “he said.
Meire Coelho was arrested at the police station and must be transferred to the women’s prison in Nortelândia, 261 km from Cuiabá.
