The former secretary of public security of Embu das Artes (SP) and metropolitan civil guard, Denis Viana, was killed by two shots in the back today after an extensive discussion in a bar in the city. According to initial information, the shots came from military police.
The case took place on Calle Flor do Campo, 10, in the Jardim Flórida neighborhood. In addition to Viana, they shot three other people, two civilians, one of whom was a friend of the GCM, and a military policeman.
One of the civilians, a merchant, was reportedly shot in the leg, as was the prime minister. Viana’s friend, in turn, was shot in the head. He was a candidate for councilor for the PSC.
Wanted by Twitter, the São Paulo Public Security Secretariat confirmed the death of the GCM and the other three injured, but did not give more information about their health status. The SSP also affirmed that the Office of Internal Affairs of the Military Police is following the case.
In the morning, the mayor of Embu das Artes, Ney Santos (Republicans), published a note of condolences, paying tribute to Denis Viana. “The crime is being investigated and we still do not have precise information about what happened. My feelings towards the entire GCM corporation,” he wrote on a social network.
