Freed by Marco Aurélio, André do Rap would have fled to Paraguay

Approximately eight hours after leaving prison, the trafficker André Oliveira Macedo, known as André do Rap, was released by Minister Luís Fux, president of the Supreme Court (STF). Fux suspended the precautionary measure granted by Minister Marco Aurélio Mello, who authorized the criminal’s release.

However, the Fux measure may have come too late. Sources from the São Paulo Public Ministry (MP-SP) told UOL columnist Josmar Jozino that André did not fulfill his promise to go home to Guarujá. According to sources, he allegedly drove to the city of Maringá (PR) and from there took a plane to Paraguay.

Sentenced to 15 years to 6 months in prison in the first instance, André do Rap had been in prison since September 14 last year. He was captured in a mansion in Angra dos Reis, on the south coast of Rio de Janeiro.
