Belo Horizonte registered the first death from the new coronavirus (Covid-19) in a resident under 14 years of age in the city. The information came out in the city council bulletin, published on Friday (9). Most of the people who have died from the disease to date, 1,107 (82.6%) were over 60 years old; another 200 (14.8) were between 40 and 59 years old; between the ages of 20 and 39, 33 people (2.5%) died. The death of the person under 14 years of age represents 0.1% of deaths.
The Municipal Health Secretariat of the capital of Minas Gerais reported that the medical record in relation to deaths from coronavirus and therefore could not give details about the patient who died under 14 years of age.
Regarding the number of cases, the city reached 44,354 infected on Friday. The disease transmission rate remains at the yellow level and reached 1.06. The occupancy of beds in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is 36.7% and the ward is 33%.
