In Niterói, the Federal Police are investigating a hospital company, which possibly sold fake vaccines against covid-19. Agents carried out search and seizure warrants in the city center to investigate the case.
Vaccines against covid-19 are still in development. So there are none for sale. But Anvisa (National Health Surveillance Agency) received a report of this irregular commercialization in Niterói.
The first investigations indicated that the investigated company does not have authorization or agreement with the health authorities that work in the process of developing the vaccine.
The Federal Police suspect that those responsible took advantage of the pandemic period to create the illusion that they already had the vaccine, without this being a reality, thus perpetuating the fraud.
The conduct of the company will be investigated and may be adjusted to articles of fraud and counterfeiting of products intended for medical purposes.
