The STJD on Friday denied Flamengo’s request to postpone the match against Palmeiras on Sunday in São Paulo. In this way the duel is maintained. The red and black slate wanted to change the date due to the Covid outbreak in the squad, and now it will be necessary to use base players to assemble the team and complete the relationship.

After the trip to Ecuador, the club had 16 players, coach Domènec Torrent and several employees and managers who tested positive. In the request, Flamengo had included the opinion of a doctor who highlighted the risk to the health of the party.
Flamengo stated that only 12 athletes are available to enter the field against Palmeiras, three of them being goalkeepers and only nine players remain in playing condition.
Prior to applying to the STJD, Flamengo contacted the CBF directly to request the change of the departure date, but the entity denied it. The claim is that the club has the possibility of including the registration of six more athletes. The total allowed is 40 names and Flamengo only has 34.
