A car collided with another vehicle, invaded the bike lane and the sidewalk of Avenida Boa Viagem, in the South Zone of Recife, and ran over a cyclist and two pedestrians. The accident happened this morning (20), when the beach was full. At least four people were injured, two of them in serious condition (see video above).
According to witnesses, a silver Polo was traveling in the middle of the avenue when a white Tuscon SUV collided with its rear. The video recorded by the security cameras of a building shows the moment of the accident.
The Tucson driver, identified as Ezequiel dos Santos, lost control and invaded the bike lane and sidewalk, hitting people. The car even made it to the exercise bar on the boardwalk.

The driver tested the breathalyzer on the spot, but the test was negative for alcohol consumption. According to the Municipality of Traffic and Urban Transport of Recife (CTTU), the child was not detained.
Forensics will certify who was at fault for the accident. Therefore, the young man who ran the utility was released and will be at the disposal of the Justice.
Three people who were on the sidewalk and the driver of the Silver Polo, Rafaela Borges, were injured in the crash. According to preliminary information, she suffered an open fracture in her clavicle and was transferred to the Portuguese Hospital, in the center of Recife, in serious condition.
A person on the sidewalk suffered a traumatic brain injury and was also in serious condition. The injured were taken to Hospital da Restauração, also in the center of the capital, and to an Emergency Unit. HE G1 has not yet had access to the health status of these people.

According to information from the municipality, Rogério Silva Lacerda and Luciana Campelo were injured in the accident. The name of the other victim was not given.
CTTU dispatched teams to the site. Due to the accident, the traffic on Avenida Boa Viagem had to divert to Rua Pereira da Costa. A huge traffic jam has formed in the region.
The accident occurred around 11 a.m. and at least four ambulances from the Mobile Emergency Service (Samu) were sent to the scene.
According to mathematician Bruno Carvalho, who lives on Avenida Boa Viagem, the white car, which invaded the sidewalk, was going at full speed.

“The silver car was on the road and the other one came at great speed and hit his corner. Because the speed was so great, he couldn’t stop and ended up at the exercise bar on Boa Viagem Avenue,” he said.
A shopkeeper at the scene said he witnessed the accident. The kiosk where he works is less than thirty feet from where Tuscon stopped.
“I saw a cyclist somersaulting on the hood of the car, then the windshield crashed. It was a big scare, very loud. Two women who were drinking coconut water ran away. I thought the car was approaching me,” he said coconut seller Ednaldo da Silva.
