CBF (Brazilian Football Confederation) contacted some clubs in the last hours to show the intention of scheduling an emergency meeting to discuss the return of the public to the stadiums. There is no date for the meeting yet. Yesterday, Andrés Sánchez said that Corinthians would not enter the field if the gates were not reopened at the same time for all teams.
The entity acts to reduce the dissatisfaction of its members with the possibility that fans will return only in Maracana matches. Ferj and the City of Rio announced that the game on October 4, between Flamengo and Atlético, will already have ticket sales. However, CBF has yet to comment on the case.
Although only Corinthians made the complaint public, it is not only he who is unhappy. Teams like Palmeiras, Fluminense, Botafogo, Internacional, Grêmio, Atlético-MG, Ceará and Bahia oppose the return of the public in a single city. The word most used by them is “isonomy”. In his opinion, there will be a technical imbalance if only a few have the support of the fans.
Most clubs ask health officials to be heard and approve a return protocol before the CBF, the federations or the teams directly make the decision.
The telenovela repeats what was the release of the teams for training. Each state makes the decision to choose which activities are released during the pandemic.
There is a trend, even within the CBF, suggesting that the public will return only in November if the number of cases of those infected with the coronavirus continues to decline until then.
The return of the public to the stadiums is a fundamental measure to stop the loss of clubs playing games with closed doors. Until the ninth round, Rio de Janeiro clubs led the expense rankings with ease.
